So i guess I am all about summer with this dish. I have probably made this 4 times since I originally threw all of these ingredients in the oven at the start of summer. It all started when I discovered a friends farm stand down the street. This stand typically has all of the best fruits and vegetables that I can grab and bring home to get inspired.

Well, most recently, I went to purchase a few things and wound up coming home with boxes and I mean BOXES of ripe peaches. Not to mention, strawberries, Jars of local honey, asparagus and tomatoes as well!

It’s no secret that I love peaches, however, this took it to a whole new level. Since I got a bit carried away in purchasing ripe peaches, I did not have much time before they would go bad, so I had to throw something together quick.

Heres how to make the perfect summer peach pastry:

Like so many of my recipes, these summer pastries are quick, easy and can be thrown together with just about any of your favorite ingredients. Add in a powdered sugar glaze and some ice cream…use some store-bought puff pastry and you have yourself a simple yet delicious show stopping dessert in no time!

Star with the pastry, add some of your favorite ripe summer (or winter) fruit. In Michigan, it’s summer which means peaches, and lots of them. Sprinkle with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. I even just free hand this part sometimes and skip the measuring of everything. Then top with dabs of butter to make all of this come together and caramelize in the oven.

Bake in the oven for only 15 minutes and your house will smell like the best summer treat in no time.

Onto that bourbon hard sauce…

The three main ingredients in the hard sauce is butter, powdered sugar and bourbon. Add a dash of salt to give that final touch and oh my! For only a few ingredients, this hard sauce is perfection!

The perfect balance of sweetness, and a bourbony punch!

Once the pastries come out of the oven, drizzle immediately with this sauce and your mouth will be watering!

I have been told on multiple occasions that this is the best dessert recipe i’ve made yet. I laugh each time because I think its also the easiest!
